Hi Fellow MTCNE’ers!

I am Hedy De Nolf, graduate of an academic year, primary training with Gretchen Hall, what feels like eons ago, in the summer of 2011. I absolutely loved my time in Hartford with our cohort of amazing women. I still keep in touch with a few of my classmates and recently made my way back for The Keepers of Alexandria training and got to spend time with some old friends. It was the first time I was able to see Butterworth and I am so impressed with all the progress. Since graduating I went back to Alexandria, Virginia, where I was born and raised and was so fortunate to be offered a position at the school I attended as a child, Aquinas Montessori, with all the people I know and love. I have been working with my best friends mothers, my own mother and so many people I have known my whole life. It was a dream and I am so glad I was able to start my career surrounded by the people I love and love me. Of course the last seven/eight years have not been without other changes, such as, marriage, buying and selling homes, and the heavy loss of my father. It took a couple years after my dad passed away for light to make its way back into our lives in the form of a little, sweet baby girl. Dylan was born in the Fall of 2017 and has been the thing no one knew we needed. Last year, my husband, Ethan, and I made the decision it was time for a change in our lives. I began interviewing all over and together we decided on a change that would slow the pace of our lives while enriching it. So, we moved last summer to South Bend, Indiana, where my in-laws live. My mom moved with us and now lives in a little bungalow near my husbands parents and grandmother. Dylan also benefits from the undivided attention of her uncle and her great god-parents. Ethan can now stay at home during the days and make up for much time lost while working day and night back in DC. I have a new job as a primary guide at the Good Shepherd Montessori School with my amazing mother as my assistant. She is very happy to ‘not be in charge’. Dylan is living the life going to her toddler classroom and is the epitome of a very independent Montessori child with a very healthy dose of sass. Since we have moved to South Bend, we as a family have opened up a barbershop where Ethan works a normal amount of hours and has been quite successful so far. I have joined the Junior League and have thrown myself into volunteer work; I have found it thoroughly rewarding so far. I have made great friends and feel like I am helping in the betterment of the community we have joined. I can’t say thank you enough to all those who made my time in Hartford wonderful, the knowledge you imparted on me helped set my life into motion and get me where I am today.

Best wishes,
Hedy Lane, Ethan & Dylan De Nolf
