MTCNE delivers reputable, comprehensive AMI-affiliated Montessori teacher training to adult learners worldwide, strengthened through its academic partnership with the University of Hartford.
AMI is a globally recognized organization, established by Dr. Maria Montessori in 1929 to safeguard the integrity of her educational method and ensure its accurate and lasting implementation. As an AMI-affiliated training center, MTCNE provides courses that meet international standards and are widely respected within the Montessori community. In addition, MTCNE’s Early Childhood and Elementary I–II teacher education programs hold accredited status from the Montessori Accreditation Council for Teacher Education (MACTE)*.
AMI training programs offered through MTCNE provide a comprehensive understanding of Montessori philosophy, theory, and practice. This includes in-depth knowledge of child development, the prepared environment, observation techniques, and curriculum implementation.
Since before 2007, MTCNE has partnered with the University of Hartford, a collaboration that brings additional academic rigor and research opportunities to our students. This partnership strengthens our learning community, connecting adult learners with both the depth of Montessori training and the breadth of university-level scholarship. Through this collaboration, students may also complete Montessori teacher training as part of a degree in Montessori Studies.
We invite you to explore our program pages for more details about the curriculum, course structure, and how each program can support your journey to becoming a Montessori educator.
MTCNE employs experienced and qualified educators who have undergone extensive training themselves. These instructors are well-versed in the AMI Montessori approach and can provide valuable insights and guidance to adult learners. Learn more about our AMI credentialed Training Staff here.
MTCNE offers training programs that are designed to accommodate the needs of adult learners. We offer part-time and blended delivery options, allowing individuals to pursue training while balancing other personal or professional commitments. At the core of all AMI training delivered through MTCNE is the value placed on the hands on learning in a prepared environment under the guidance of a expert trainer within a community of practice; this is a required component of the training that transforms adult learners’ pre-service practice.
Completing an AMI training program through MTCNE can enhance career prospects in the field of Montessori education. The AMI Montessori credentials are respected worldwide for authenticity, high standards, and quality. Many schools and institutions prefer or require teachers who have received AMI certification, making it a valuable credential to possess.
